Choosing your first series

Pick a premise you can describe in one sentence. The mood routes offer a seaside romance, career story, fantasy school, investigation, palace relationship or friendship ensemble. Choose the situation that makes you curious, then read that guide’s comparison table before committing.

Check whether the selection is a film or a series, and look for notes about violence, grief or a darker subplot. Several actor guides offer a movie as a shorter first step. After one selection, try a contrasting role to see another side of the same performer.
