Four women changing the terms of everyday life

Starting again can mean opening a clinic, arranging a wedding for practical reasons, facing a family crisis or reconsidering how you see yourself. Shin Min-a's roles make those changes feel very different. Some begin with a plan the heroine thinks she can control; others place her in circumstances that resist an easy solution. Choosing between them is partly a question of how much emotional weight you want alongside the romance.

Use this guide to select a first episode, then leave room for the characters to complicate the initial premise. These four titles are independent stories, with no required viewing order.

Drama Shin's role Choose when you want
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Yoon Hye-jin A professional adapting to a seaside town
No Gain No Love Son Hae-yeong A calculated arrangement becoming complicated
Our Blues Min Seon-a An emotionally heavier ensemble
Oh My Venus Kang Joo-eun A makeover-centered romantic comedy

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha: let belonging be part of the romance

Yoon Hye-jin opens a dental clinic in Gongjin, where she meets Hong Du-sik, played by Kim Seon-ho. Netflix's official introduction presents her as a capable, exacting dentist and him as the neighbor who seems able to handle any odd job.

This is a strong first selection if you want an established professional learning how a new community works. Hye-jin brings expertise, but settling in requires forms of attention that a qualification cannot supply. The romance develops within that wider process of adjustment.

Choose it for the interaction between personal standards and shared daily life. The town's recurring faces matter to the experience, so give the ensemble time to become familiar. If neighborhood relationships appeal to you, the Love Next Door entry in our Jung Hae-in watchlist offers another direction afterward.

No Gain No Love: begin with the calculation

Son Hae-yeong dislikes ending up at a disadvantage. When marriage-related workplace benefits threaten to leave her behind, she devises a fake-wedding arrangement. CJ ENM's official synopsis establishes that practical motivation and the contrast between a woman avoiding losses and a man who dislikes inconveniencing others.

Pick this when you enjoy a romantic premise with an explicit deal at its center. Hae-yeong can name what she expects to gain, which makes it interesting to watch what a transaction cannot neatly account for. Her blunt practicality also offers a useful contrast with Hye-jin's investment in professional and social standards.

The fun of this setup depends on watching a planned arrangement encounter real people. Know why the wedding happens, then let the show establish how the characters relate beyond the immediate purpose of the agreement.

Our Blues: choose the person within the larger mosaic

Min Seon-a's story forms part of an ensemble set around life in Jeju. tvN's official character introduction describes a quiet woman dealing with the breakdown of her marriage and a painful situation involving her young son. Her history also connects her with Lee Dong-seok, played by Lee Byung-hun.

This is the choice for a more difficult emotional register. Seon-a's circumstances involve family, history and the possibility of continuing a life that no longer looks as expected. It is an ensemble experience, so arriving solely for one pairing can miss the value of the broader setting.

Give the other residents' stories room, and avoid jumping through episodes to isolate a favorite actor. For another route into adult lives shaped by ordinary pressures, our Kim Ji-won guide includes My Liberation Notes.

Oh My Venus: understand the makeover premise before choosing

Kang Joo-eun is a lawyer whose life crosses that of personal trainer Kim Young-ho, played by So Ji-sub. KBS World's official character guide establishes her legal career, the end of a long relationship and the personal transformation around which the romance develops.

Here, body image and appearance sit close to the surface of the premise. That distinguishes the show from Hometown's relocation or No Gain's workplace calculation. Choose it if you want the dynamic of two adults repeatedly spending time together through a personal project, with romantic-comedy momentum and an emphasis on confidence.

Decide how much change you want

Start with Hometown for community and romance, or No Gain for the sharper contractual hook. Save Our Blues for an evening suited to a wider, more emotionally demanding ensemble. Oh My Venus provides a different kind of romantic reset, anchored in the heroine's relationship with herself as well as her partner.
