What can she see, and what must she protect?

Han Hyo-joo's roles offer an interesting route through stories about observation, concealed information and danger. A surveillance recruit learns to read a city. A doctor encounters a world whose rules should be impossible. A new homeowner faces a locked-down building, while a mother must consider what exposure could mean for her child. The settings change, but each asks how a character acts on what she knows.

These four selections give you one film and three series. Choose a contained crime story for an evening, a fantasy romance for an elaborate premise, or an ensemble thriller when you want relationships to develop under pressure.

Title Her character Your entry point
Cold Eyes Ha Yoon-ju Observation and professional training
W Oh Yeon-joo A doctor crossing into a webtoon
Happiness Yoon Sae-bom A home that becomes a confined threat
Moving Lee Mi-hyun Family protection within a superpowered ensemble

Cold Eyes: begin with a skill you can follow

Ha Yoon-ju joins a police surveillance unit with a strong memory and close attention to detail. The Korean Film Council's official record identifies Han in the role and describes her partnership with veteran Hwang Sang-jun as the unit pursues an organized criminal group.

This is the most straightforward first pick if you enjoy watching someone become effective at a difficult job. Observation has to become useful information, and useful information has to arrive in time for the team to act. Look at how the film turns a busy urban environment into something its characters must interpret.

Choose it before the series when you want a complete feature-film commitment. Its professional setting also makes a productive contrast with the more personal protection at the center of Happiness. For another film-and-television route through investigation and institutional pressure, see our Jung Hae-in watchlist.

W: choose the romance when you want reality to become unstable

Oh Yeon-joo is a doctor who enters the webtoon created by her father and meets its protagonist, Kang Chul, played by Lee Jong-suk. Broadcaster MBC's premise introduction establishes the crossing between the everyday world and the fictional one.

Yeon-joo's position makes this a different kind of danger from a conventional pursuit. She must respond to a person and a world she initially knows through a story, then deal with them as immediate experiences. Pick W if you want romance mixed with suspense and a premise that keeps challenging your assumptions about what can happen next.

It benefits from watching in sequence. Rather than collecting an explanation of every rule before beginning, let the show reveal what its characters can and cannot control. That discovery is a substantial part of the viewing experience.

Happiness: let the apartment building become the ensemble

Yoon Sae-bom finally gains the home she has wanted, only for the building to be locked down during a mysterious outbreak. CJ ENM's official synopsis emphasizes both the infection threat and the divisions among residents occupying different positions within the property.

Choose this when you want a thriller about people forced to keep encountering one another. A corridor, a shared facility or a neighbor's decision can become consequential because escape and privacy are limited. Sae-bom's situation gives a concrete emotional meaning to the setting: the place supposed to offer security becomes a source of uncertainty.

The title can sound gentler than the premise. Expect a tense outbreak story with human conflict alongside the physical danger. If you want a feature-film comparison afterward, our Gong Yoo guide includes Train to Busan.

Moving: give the parents and children time to connect

Han plays Lee Mi-hyun, as confirmed by the licensed cast listing. Disney's official series introduction describes children concealing superpowers and parents living with secrets from their past, facing danger together.

This is the choice for a wider ensemble and a family perspective on extraordinary abilities. Approach the powers as something that changes relationships and exposure, not simply as an inventory of combat advantages. Mi-hyun's place in the family offers an intimate way into the larger story.

A route through the four

Start with Cold Eyes for focused crime tension, then try W for the largest change in storytelling rules. Pair Happiness with Moving when protective relationships interest you most. These are independent productions, so there is no required order or shared background to learn.
