After the tangerines,
choose a different world.
Three IU dramas, selected by the mood you want next.
If When Life Gives You Tangerines sent you searching for IU dramas, the next decision is about tone. Do you want another story about people carrying difficult lives, a supernatural setting, or a look at fictional entertainment-industry personalities? Those are three different viewing evenings, even with the same performer at the centre.
This guide selects My Mister, Hotel Del Luna and The Producers. It explains the role and starting premise of each without revealing endings. The order is a way to choose, rather than a claim that one performance outranks another.
First, pick the kind of story
| Your mood | Start with | IU’s role |
| An emotionally demanding human drama | My Mister | Lee Ji-an |
| Fantasy with a formidable hotel owner | Hotel Del Luna | Jang Man-wol |
| An entertainment-workplace ensemble | The Producers | Cindy |
My Mister: when you want to stay with difficult feelings
IU plays Lee Ji-an in a story involving a young woman and three brothers carrying their own burdens. Broadcaster tvN’s official series page describes people finding a kind of healing through one another and identifies her character.
Choose this route if the human relationships in Tangerines mattered more to you than a particular landscape or period. The shared point of interest is how a drama gives people space to be understood; the characters and circumstances are entirely different.
Make room for a heavier viewing mood. A description involving hardship and healing should not be mistaken for a promise of easy comfort in every episode. Start with a complete episode, then decide whether its emotional weight is what you want tonight.
Hotel Del Luna: when you want a visible change of scene
Here IU plays Jang Man-wol, the owner of a hotel whose clientele consists of spirits. The setup brings her together with hotel manager Gu Chan-seong. tvN provides both an official premise and a character introduction for Man-wol.
Choose this for the clearest departure from the world of Tangerines. A supernatural workplace lets you approach the performer through a different character, setting and set of story rules. You do not need to carry Ae-sun’s family timeline into this hotel.
Fantasy does not automatically mean an emotionally weightless watch. The premise involves guests who have died, so the change is in storytelling mode rather than the disappearance of serious feelings. If you prefer exploring a fictional world to solving a realistic family chronology, this is a useful starting point.
The Producers: when the industry setting interests you
In The Producers, IU plays singer Cindy. KBS World’s programme guide places the ensemble around KBS’s entertainment department and introduces Cindy as an experienced performer with a guarded public manner.
Choose it if you want the singer-and-actor connection to inform your next selection. Cindy remains a fictional character: her experiences should not be treated as a documentary account of IU’s life. The interesting viewing question is how an entertainment workplace operates as the setting for relationships and competing personalities.
This is also a different expectation from following one family across time. Give the ensemble room to introduce itself instead of waiting only for one performer’s next scene.
A practical order, plus two quick answers
For a change of atmosphere, try Hotel Del Luna first, move to The Producers for the entertainment setting, and save My Mister for an evening when you want a more demanding human drama. If emotional continuity is your priority, reverse that choice and begin with My Mister.
Are these sequels to Tangerines?
No. They are separate productions and characters. You can choose by mood without following this article’s order.
Where can I watch them?
Check licensed services in your country for the exact title, subtitles and available episodes. A broadcaster’s reference page establishes the production and credit; it does not guarantee worldwide streaming availability.
